The Gamescom 2025 is just around the corner and is ready to show a host of highly expected games and hardware, including the new ROG Xbox Ally from Microsoft and Asus. Now a new leak has given us further insight into the latter launch date, which is slightly further away than previously expected.
According to car cars via dealabs, ROG Xbox Ally is set to launch on October 16, after practical previews at Gamescom in August. This leak follows a previous report suggesting that pre -orders would open on August 20, which essentially suggests that devices would be ready to send to consumers from that date. However, that does not appear to be the case.
While the new report insists that the date of August 20 is exactly for pre -orders, the alleged launch date of October 16 means that the new handheld will be a little late for the party among new releases. MSI Claw A8, another handheld using AMDS Ryzen Z2 Extreme, is already available in some regions in Europe where Lenovo Legion Go 2 is expected to be launched soon as its prototype is already available in China.
If this leak is legitimate, it means that fans are waiting over a month to finally acquire the devices, one of which is alleged to be too expensive. There will apparently be two models; ROG Xbox Ally X (Refused to have a price of $ 899) with Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor, while ROG Xbox Ally uses a weaker processor, Ryzen Z2A.
As for the long -awaited Hollow Knight: SilksongThis new leak should mean that it will be launched on October 16 when Xbox President Sarah Bond confirmed that the title would launch with ROG Xbox Ally.
Analysis: A two-month waiting time gets this launch a little less exciting
While a two-month waiting time is not exactly the worst here, it is sapped one little of the excitement I have for the new devices. I’m already not happy with the recent price tags for handhelds like MSI Claw A8, MSI Claw 8 AI+and ROG XBOX ALLY X’s Rumored $ 899 Tag, so the extra wait is not exactly good news for consumers.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not planning to buy ROG Xbox Ally X, but I plan to analyze potential benefits differences between its Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor and Standard Ryzen Z2 Extreme (including the performance of Ryzen Z2A) via the real world benchmarks, and it is not clear if the practical previews and presentation of the Xbox will give us.
The wait also adds the frustration over the lack of accessibility in the market as it is still more difficult to find stock of Like Lenovo Legion Go Z1 Extreme. The latter is a device that I am particularly interested in thanks to its 8-inch screen, but it is nowhere to be found in England and there is no guarantee that the same stock problems will not happen with ROG Xbox Ally.
From what we have already seen from Ryzen Z2 Extreme, it seems that the award from a Z1-extrem-driven handheld is excessive. At this point, all I want is a handheld similar to Asus Rog Ally’s Power, with an 8-inch screen, but it either comes with a hefty price tag or a lack of accessibility.
ROG Xbox Ally is a 7-inch device that unfortunately could mark both of these ‘expensive price tags’ and ‘low stock’ boxes, which does not leave me enthusiastically over its launch.
