Lahore:
With the most important PTI that was effectively pushed out of the political ring of the powers that are, Punjab’s Minister of Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, said on Saturday that her party’s election tickets were “hot cake” while taking a jab on the opposition party to opt out of the upcoming elections.
Azma said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) parliamentary board held an in-depth discussion about the election and the internal party organization, adding that almost 15 aspirants competed for each seat.
She emphasized that the final decision to allocate party tickets rests exclusively on the party’s Supremo Nawaz Sharif, she clarified that the role of the Parliament Council was limited to recommending the most appropriate candidates.
She further added that the party has invited suggestions from persons interested in contesting the upcoming elections and that another session in the parliamentary board will soon be convened to end decisions.
After charging against political rivals, she said PTI has already fled from the urban election, unable to find candidates who were willing to take the pitch against PML-N. She added that while PML-N was fully prepared and united, the opposition remained with confusion and disorder.
The PUNJAB chapter in PML-N recently convened an important organizational meeting in Model Town, Lahore.
The session was led by Punjab president Rana Sanaullah and participated by senior leaders, including Azma Bokhari, Pervaiz Rashid, Anusha Rehman, Saud Majeed, Saifullah Khokhar, Zeeshan Rafiq, Nosheen IFTIKHAR, RANA ARSHAD, MOHSIN RANJHA, along with a division coordinators and other organizational offices.
The meeting focused on planning and preparations for the upcoming elections as well as the expected local government elections. During the session, Rana Sanaullah instructed party leaders to immediately finish the organizational structure and ensure full election readiness at all levels.
Discussions on graduate selection were also held for election. The party’s officials at the district level were asked to accelerate the preparations. Rana Sanaullah announced that the party will soon finish appropriate candidates after consultation with senior management.
