Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) record -breaking restore efforts in the second quarter of 2025 (April to June) accounted for a staggering RS456 billion, which brought the total recovery in the first half of the year (January to June) to RS547 billion, The news Reported on Sunday.
In addition, funds were returned to 12,611 victims in various fraud cases.
Nab has recovered a dizzying total of Rs 5,854.73 billion worth of moving and real estate in the last two years. The Bureau revealed a performance report for the middle of the year for 2025, confirming its unwavering obligation to fight corruption and set strong opposition to offending elements.
The report highlights the Bureau’s steadfast dedication to protecting public interests through intensified efforts to recover abused funds.
These recovery is 700% more than RS839.08 billion that was recovered since the bureau’s inception. It points out that 12,611 affected people with different cheating cases have also been compensated.
Out of the recovery of RS547,31 billion for the first two quarters of 2025 are moving and real estate, which is valuable RS532.33 billion, been paid/handed over to various ministries and departments of federal and provincial governments as well as financial institutions.
The relentless efforts of the Bureau are clear through the RS456.3 billion recovery over the second quarter of 2025, marking a significant increase of RS365.29 billion compared to RS91.01 billion recovered in the first quarter that year.
Currently, Nab is actively coordinating with the income departments in all provinces to recover state assets and properties illegally owned by corrupt elements. Preliminary estimates indicate that state land worth approx. RS5 trillion is under illegal possession and will be regained.
