- Chatgpt Plus subscribers can now use the GPT-5 thinking model more than before
- Sam Altman confirmed the change of x after the user’s setback to the 200 -message during the day.
- GPT-5 was launched last week to huge user bacash
Sam Altman has confirmed Chatgpt Plus users will get increased rate limits to use the reasoning features in the brand new GPT-5 AI model after setback from paid subscribers.
Openai CEO announced the change on X, tweeting: “We significantly increase speed limits to resonate for chatgpt plus users, and all model-class limits will soon be higher than they were before GPT-5.”
Altman also announced that a new UI change is in -depth to show users which model works in response to a prompt. These changes come after widespread setback after the launch of GPT-5 last week and removal of the popular AI model GPT-4o (Openai has since returned to removal).
Plus subscribers paying $ 20/£ 20 a month for more powerful AI models, larger rate limits and other benefits such as early access to the latest offers from Openai, were disappointed with the limitations of the GPT-5 thinking model to 200 messages per year. Day, and while Altman says the company has fixed this, he says not explicitly to what extent.
Today we are increasing significant rate limits to resonate for chatgpt plus users, and all model-class limits will soon be higher than they were before the GPT-5. We will also soon make a UI change to indicate which model works.August 10, 2025
One step forward, two steps back
When Openai announced a livestream to show the future of chatgpt, the tension was tangible. Even hours after altman tweeted a picture of the Death Star from Star Wars, fans flowed to social media to express their misfortune with GPT-5.
Although it seems that Altman and Co seem to fix some wrong, especially for their paid subscribers who felt that the premium product had been fooled overnight, it feels like GPT-5 could still be a disappointment to many.
We are at a point where what is expected to be a major AI innovation can end up being a step -by -step upgrade. After all, we’ve come to terms with AI -Chatbots as a useful tool in general, so the news factor is almost worn.
Now I would suspect that chatgpt upgrades are filled with step -by -step speed increases, new UI design and small adjustments to improve older models. This will again lead to disappointment as Altman cannot fulfill the legendary hype he puts on his own products and users who have grown into a certain way of interacting with AI will be disappointed with ‘improvements’ that change the way AI responds to their requests.
For the time being, Openai has corrected one of the sticking points from last week’s GPT-5 launch, but I have a feeling of constant adjustments to please the company’s most loyal fanbase may be just the new normal.
