PTI -legislators assigned imprisonment in several cases

Anti-Terrorism Court, who acquitted Ptis Shah Mehmood Qureshi, awarded 10 years in prison to PTI’s lawmakers, including former governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Ch, Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed, in two different cases registered against them in response to May 9.

The ATC judge also awarded 5 years in prison each to PTI’s Alia Hamza and PTI’s social activist Sanam Javed.

Previously, the ATC court had reserved decisions after hearing detailed the arguments from both sides in Kot Lakhpat prison in two cases, ‘Shadman Police Station Attack and Burning of Police Vehicles Near Jinnah House, in Kot Lakhpat Prison.

The defendant’s lawyer claimed that there is no concrete evidence available to establish any link to the accused persons with the charges directed in the FIR.

They argued that politically motivated cases had been registered against the defendants simply to humiliate and blackmail them, adding that they were involved in counterfeit cases.

The prosecution asked the court that there is substantial and cogent evidence against the accused persons who show that they called on the public to commit the offense.

It added that the accused persons are fully involved in the offense they committed on May 9 in the light of devastating state properties, which puts Imflaze Police vans, creating law and order, anarchy -chaos.

However, the ATC court announced a verdict and imprisoned PTI’s lawmakers.

When we talked to Express Pakinomist, one of PTI’s advice, Rana Mudassar Umar, said the trials in the event of burning vehicles outside Rahat bakery and arson near the Shadman police station had ended.

He said a total of 25 accused were named in the Rahat Bakery case, while seven accused were declared absent.

He also said the trial against 12 accused had ended in the Shadman Police Station -Brand Foundation case, and five accused were in custody in this case while an accused was dead.
