Few will forget the swelling few weeks during 2023, when Openai co-founder and CEO Sam Altman was fired and then returned to his position at the groundbreaking artificial intelligence company. It is perhaps not surprising that such a surprising reversal of events is now feeding for a larger film.
There is little known about Amazon Studios/MGM production in addition to a smashing of casting news and rumors. What we know is that Andrew Garfield (star of The social network) is a role -studded like Sam Altman, and Monica Barbaro plays the former interim Openai CEO Mira Murati. In addition, we have a handful of stars, including Cooper Hoffman, Jason Schwartzman and Billie Lourd, who do not remain awarded roles (none of them seem a good fit for Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella). Tuesday Chris O’Dowd (Black mirrorAt IT quantity) joined the list, but with no details of who the Irish actor would play.
No doubt the film is full of high drama, some absurdity and juicy roles, but maybe no one will mix it all as a casting of X owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Musk, who co-founded Openai in 2015 with Altman, before walking away in 2018, has been a thorn in Altman’s side for almost a decade of self under Altman who fired unrest. Musk inserted himself and highlighted an unsigned letter full of accusations against Altman.
Things between the two men are not improved. In recent days, Altman and Musk have turned over Chatgpt’s position in the Apple Store. Musk claims that Apple is unreasonably highlighting and promoting its AI partner over XS AI offers, the fresh up -to -date hell.
Sparks fly
Musk tweeted this week: “Apple is behaving in a way that makes it impossible for some AI company besides Openai to reach # 1 in the App Store, which is an unambiguous violation of antitrust. Xai will immediately take litigation.”
As Altman replied, “This is a remarkable claim considering what I have heard claims that Elon does to manipulate X for the benefit of himself and his own businesses and harm his competitors and people whom he does not like.”
Obviously, a portrayal on the screen of their toxic relationships can be cinematic gold. But who is playing Musk opposite Garfields Altman?
IKE Barinholtz (The study) has been rumored but nothing is confirmed. Could O’Dowd be the true “Musk” in store?
From our perspective, however, there is no doubt which of the two should play Musk. Anyone who has spent some time around him that Musk has a strange, quirky and off-kilter energy. O’DOWD is too low -key key but Barinholtz? If you saw any part of Apple TV+’s Emmy-nominated The studyYou know Bariholtz, who plays Studio Exec Sal Saperstein, has just the right mix of kinetic energy, unpredictability and odd pathos to pull it off.
At least it’s our hope. A movie called Artificial About the darkest days in Openai’s story, it will not be worth seeing unless it becomes very, very real.
