Pete Alonso is the new home drive of the New York Mets.
At the bottom of the third round, Alonso launched a two-run Homer Off Atlanta Braves-Starter Spencer Strider, a laser to the right-centre field that expanded the team’s lead to 5-1.
It was Alonsos 253. Career Home Driving, all of which have been with Mets. He was tied with Darryl Strawberry for the most in a Mets uniform, but with that explosion he is the only leader in their record books.

Strawberry may have had 335 career homes, but he also played for Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees over that time.
It was always expected by Mets fans that David Wright, the team’s latest captain, would be the franchisor in long balls. During his METS career from 2004-18, however, he belted 242 homers.
Wright, whose numbers were retired by the franchise earlier this season, ranks the third behind Alonso and Strawberry.
There was a time of the last season when it seemed that Alonso would not be able to get this record as his Mets future was uncertain due to free agency. But he ultimately signed a two-year deal of $ 54 million and it has worked for both parties.
Alonso went into Tuesday’s match with Braves with a .264/.350/.511 slash with 26 homers and 93 RBI over 118 games.

Alonso burst out on the Big-League stage in 2019 and earned its first of five all-star nikes. He also set a new MLB record for a single season for home runs Hit with 53 that year and broke the 52-home record set by New York Yanke’s Captain Aaron Judge in 2017.
Alonso quickly turned into a fan favorite, and that is why many mets faithful fought for him to sign a deal that kept him flushing in the foreseeable future.
While Alonso has this franchise record, he chases Strawberry and Wright with regard to RBIs, though he’s third on that list of 681. Wright is the leader with 970.
This season, Mets will definitely love some more homers from Alonso if it means they win on the record.

New York went into Tuesday and sat in the final National League Wild Card spot with a record of 63-55. Cincinnati Reds are two matches behind them in that race.
