At least four police personnel were martyrated and seven wounded in several militant attacks over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in the last 24 hours, including Peshawar, Upper Dir and Lower Dir, police said on Thursday.
Two coordinated assaults took place in the Lower Dir’s Panah Kot area and on control points in the Upper Dir, which targeted a police officer and security items, officials said.
Three police personnel were killed and six were wounded in the Panah Kot attack while one police officer was killed and another was injured in assault on the Lajbook and Shadas checkpoints.
According to police, attackers used heavy weapons, including rocket throwers, but were repelled in most areas.
In Bannu, motorcycle-borne guns opened fire on Khojari and Mazinga Check posts, while a suspected militant in Charsadda in Charsadda threw a grenade at the Turlandi checkpoint.
Timely counter -attacks prevented the attacks and prevented injuries in these incidents, police said.
In Peshawar, armed men Sakhi Pul and Nasir Bagh -Police’s positions, while Tank City police station also came under fire.
All three attacks were repelled with the assailants who were on their under the deck of darkness, police said.
KP -Inspector General for Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed praised Force’s “Contingency and Bravery” and promised to eradicate terrorism.
The security forces have launched search operations in the affected districts.
