A Fracas broke out in a WNBA game on Wednesday night between Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun, resulting in several broadcasts.

The incident took place with about six minutes left in the second quarter. Sky Guard Rebecca Allen and Sun Forward Bria Hartley were tangled and fought for a rebound. Allen’s teammate Ariel Atkins seemed to run from the other side of the court and rushed Hartley during the entry.

Players from both teams were to be held back as Hartley and Atkins seemed to say some non-so-nice things to each other. Hartley and Allen were thrown out for their role in Fracas, and Atkins was thrown to be a “escalator” according to ESPN.

Sky -head coach Tyler Marsh complained that the intensity between the two teams went so far and said that officials “overlooked” an elbow from Hartley to Allen’s face.

“I think things like it tend to happen when there’s no control that has been put on the game before,” Marsh said. “There is usually an incident that is overlooked that leads to something similar.

“(Allen) was obviously elbowed in the face right in front of the referee and it wasn’t called. Then other things followed. It’s unfortunate for us. Two players playing high quality, high valuable minutes for us.”

Sun players have been in heated moments this season -especially against the Indiana fever when Marina Mabrey and Jacy Sheldon were wrapped with Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham in separate events earlier this year.
