I have undergone vacuum cleaners at Techradar for the past 18 months, during which time I have tested some of the very best vacuum cleaners that money can buy, from vacuum that can empty themselves, and vacuum that can tell you exactly what they are sucking up, to laser vacuum cleaners.
And while all these vacuums are impressive, I admit that what most people want is a vacuum that does a good job of cleaning their floors, is comfortable to use, and – crucial – do not require them to take a loan to buy it.
Almost you get what you pay for with vacuum cleaners, so if you can, I would avoid the ultra-cheap end of the market. However, there are some real hidden gems in the budget bracket. Read on for a closer look at my favorite cheap vacuum cleaner I recommend to my frugal friends and family members-plus three alternatives to great value to consider whether my top pick is not taking your fancy.

My #1 cheap vacuum cleaner in the US

The Shark Stratos Corded Stick Vacuum Is well designed, with suction powerful enough to clear large amounts of dog hair from our tester blankets. The accompanying attachments are useful and the modular design means that this vacuum can be used in a variety of configurations for various cleaning tasks.
At full price it is a relatively affordable $ 299.99, but is about growing up pretty regularly, and right now you can look up for a negotiation $ 179.99 – and with that price cut it is incredible value for money.
Various special features help lift it well over what I would expect at the budget -friendly price. The floor head has led the lights to help illuminate dark corners and are designed so that the hair does not flock around the brush. There is also a odor neutralizer cartridge that won over our tester by letting his blankets smell lovely and fresh.
A big reason why this vacuum is so cheap is because it is free. In a world of mostly wireless vacuum, it can seem old -fashioned and inconvenient, but there are benefits of going wires that go beyond just price. The suction is almost always far better than what you would get on a wireless model, plus leashed vacuum tends to last longer, so you get a better return on your investment. And of course you will never run out of juice. If having a cord is a deal breaker, I have included three good cheap, wireless alternatives below.
Alternatives to consider …
Not sold on the shark leash? Here are three alternatives that also impressed me by beating well over their diminishing price tags.

The Dream R20 is my favorite wireless vacuum in general – and not just in the budget bracket. It is powerful, easily and maneuverable with advanced extras such as automatic suction adjustment and a special head for hard flooring. Runtimes are also long.

SHAJ Detects Pro Wireless
It is less powerful than the led stratos, but detection pro is quick and easy with smart detection and automation functions. You can also choose a version with an auto-empty dock, even if it costs a little more.
