Lahore:
The study of the Islamabad Express train accident has been completed and the report has been forwarded to the Ministry of Railways.
After receiving the conclusions, Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi is expected to initiate litigation against those found responsible within the next few days.
It is relevant to note that Islamabad Express was involved in an accident near Kala Shah Kaku on August 1st. As many as 25 passengers were injured in the incident, while five bogies derailed and overturned.
Following the tragic accident, the rail minister ordered an investigation and instructed a report to be presented within a week. By shopping on these instructions, the federal inspector of Railways Amir Nisar Chaudhry was appointed study manager. He inspected the scene of the accident and collected evidence.
During the investigation, statements were recorded by the train driver, assistant train driver, guard, special ticket examination and railway police staff in addition to officials from the mechanical, electric and civilian departments of the railways.
After the accident, a team of three members consisting of officials from the mechanical, traffic, commercial and civil engineering departments issued its original joint certificate report. According to the preliminary findings, the accident was caused by dismantling the track connection.
