Cm Gandapur releases RS3B for flood relief in kp

The Khyber -Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has released RS3 billion for flood rescue operations after widespread destruction caused by heavy rain and flash floods.

Main Minister Ali Amin Gandapur left Dera Ismail Khan to visit flooded areas where he is expected to meet families and undergo relief efforts, Express News reported.

At a high-level meeting in Peshawar, attended by the Chief Secretary, the Division Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and PDMA officials, authorities reported that at LEAS 308 people have lost their lives so far by 23 wounded.

The government has awarded RS1.5 billion to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and RS1.5 billion to the communications department for rehabilitation. In addition, RS500 million is delivered to Deputy Commissioners for Compensation to the Victims’ Families.

Medical teams, food supplies and medicines have been sent, while helicopters and rescue teams are committed to moving people and restoring access roads.

Authorities have declared a flood and an emergency throughout the province, where operations continue in coordination with federal government and military support, but led by the civil administration.

CM Gandapur instructed the road links to be restored and helicopter services arranged where needed. He ordered compensation payments within two days and secured uninterrupted food supply.
