- A new report outlines changes to Apple Watch 12
- We could get new sensors and an outside redesign
- The portable is not launched until September 2026
It looks likely that Apple Watch 11 will be revealed sometime next month if Apple sticks to its usual schedule, but a new report suggests that its successor from 2026 will have a pretty significant redesign.
This tip comes from a report in Digitimes (via macaroors) based on supply chain sources, although we do not get too much information about what it may involve – and this is not a device that has changed a lot in terms of its appearance over the years.
The article mentions an increased number of sensors, presumably for more accurate health and fitness tracking, or perhaps to add the measurements that can be traced. These additional sensors may form part of the redesign.
Previously, we heard rumors of an Apple Watch with a camera and an Apple Watch with a touch -sensitive glass frame, but these potential upgrades are not specifically mentioned in the latest reporting from Digitimes.
Battery boost
The new article also mentions improved power efficiency, which hopefully means we can look forward to better battery life with Apple Watch 12, and maybe Apple Watch Ultra 4 (Apple Watch Ultra 3 should arrive this year).
Regarding this year’s model, the report says Apple Watch 11 gets some Apple Intelligence features. Based on what we have seen of Watchos 26, however, it seems that these will mostly be controlled on a connected iPhone.
Given what DigiTimes predicts for 2026, it seems that Apple Watch 11 may be a lesser upgrade. However, the publication has a mixed track record for the Apple Gadget Forests, so remember.
We will undoubtedly get many more leaks and rumors about Apple Watch 12 over the next year, but before that we have Apple Watch 11, which should be shown with the iPhone 17 hand set at some point in September.
