ESPN host Monica McNutt became viral to make an on-air error Saturday.
Under a segment that included a performance of influencer, “Druski” descends Desables that was wearing the shirt from the former Detroit Lions superstar driving back Barry Sanders, McNutt assumed wrong that it was the shirt from Cleveland Brown’s Rookie Quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
“Jersey, let’s get into it, because this is obviously tied to a flush Sanders,” McNutt said.

“No, no, no, no, no, no,” Desbodes said. “This is Barry Sanders.”
Jersey also had No. 20 on the front. Quarterbacks are not allowed to wear # 20 as a Jersey number in NFL. In college football, Quarterbacks are technically allowed to carry No. 20, but still typically carries a number within the interval 1-19. Sanders carries No. 12 in NFL and bar # 2 in college.

McNutt’s mistake quickly became viral on social media, which received criticism from bar stool founder Dave Portnoy and Outkick founder Clay Travis.
McNutt withdrew earlier criticism when she suggested that being a “white girl from the middle of America” helped Wnba Phenom Caitlin Clark’s popularity in an interview with BBC.

“But I think Caitlin represented, and again some of this is probably not fair to her because it wasn’t something she said or was really based on her personality, but she was a white girl from the middle of America. And then she represented a whole lot to many people, whether she was prescribing or not,” McNutt said in March.
“We link our fandom to these icons for all kinds of reasons, and sometimes they may not be based on truth.”
