Hyderabad:
The uninhibited wood cutting activity in the river-bound in the Dadu district has provoked a protest from the citizens who gathered on Dadu-Johi Road on Saturday to register their complaint. Lawyers, journalists, political activists and workers in non-governmental organizations participated in the demonstration.
Attorney Muhammad Yaqoob Rustamani claimed that no unauthorized and unauthorized wood cutting activity in Kaacho has not been checked. “The mafia is fearlessly chopping the tree to monetary gains, and the government officials in question are silently seeing.”
The protests claimed that more than 100 trees were cut from this area and transported through the city’s roads to different destinations.
The poet Khalil Somro and other participants also accused the police for not even bothering to stop vehicles transporting trees from their district.
The protesters demanded that the Sindh government not only stop this activity, but the people involved in the illegal cutting should also be brought to the book.
