41 TLP workers, leaders indicted on terror charges

Police have registered two cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act against 41 workers and officials of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), including the district and Qasimabad tehsil emirs, for allegedly continuing political and religious activities despite the federal government’s ban. According to officials, on the instructions of higher authorities, cases were registered at Cantt and Qasimabad police stations. In FIR No. 118/2026 at Cantt Police Station filed by ASI Pritam Kumar, District Emir Hafiz Zeeshan Rabbani, Faizan Siddiqui, Atta Rasool Abbasi, Ismail Kashmiri, Hafiz Ghulam Qadir Malikani, Muhammad Nazir, Farhan Qadir, 15 workers were unidentified and 15 workers. The FIR stated that the accused gathered outside the Hyderabad Press Club despite the ban, raised slogans to recruit people to the banned organization and fled when the police tried to arrest them. In FIR No. 332/2026 at Qasimabad Police Station, filed by ASI Lutaf Ali Bhutto, Qasimabad Tehsil Emir Mufti Mansoor Karimi, Muhammad Rehan, Muslimuddin, Allama Nasir Abbas, Allama Hashim Raza, Allama Hafiz Aamir and 12 unidentified persons. Three suspects – Mufti Mansoor Karimi, Muhammad Rehan Kashmiri and Muslimuddin Jamali – were reportedly arrested on the spot. The FIR alleged that they invited people to participate in organizational activities near the Sui Gas office. Meanwhile, Cantt Police also showed the arrest of four previously detained persons including District Emir Hafiz Zeeshan Imtiaz Rabbani, Hafiz Atta Rasool Abbasi, Ismail and Faizan. All seven arrested leaders and workers were presented in the Anti-Terrorism Court, which sent them to 7-day remand to the Hyderabad Central Jail.
