- Coreless Direct Drive Motor and Recently Designed Tonearm
- MDF pedestal in terracotta, black or light gray
- $ 899
There is a new engineering task in the city and it comes in a striking color with built -in Bluetooth.
Technics SL-40CBT is a direct driving disc with the same Coreless engine technology as the famous SL-1300g, and it boasts a newly developed high-precision S-shaped aluminum tone arm.
The SL-40CBT is significantly more affordable than the SL-1300g, and while it is still a premium product, it is aimed at vinyl noctors and people upgrading from Entry-Level turntable.
Technique SL-40CBT: Key features and pricing
Technics SL-40CBT has an integrated, shiftable moving magnet-phono phase and a factory-fitted Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge with a conical stylus. And in addition to the usual hardware outputs, there are bluetooth streaming for compatible headphones and speakers, although the details of the Bluetooth version and codec (s) have not been revealed.
The turntable has electronic speed control (33 1/3 and 45 rpm), and the dish is nozzle molded aluminum with reinforcing ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet for reliable rotate transmission and accurate speed.
Of course, the most obvious change is the new color and socket made of MDF rather than the well-known nozzle molded aluminum we have come to expect from the engineering record player. Personally, I would go for terracotta, but you can have coal black or light gray if you prefer something a little less conspicuous. The turntable is also designed to match Technics’ SC-CX700 wireless speakers, and it sits on vibration-resistant insulator feet.
Technique SL-40CBT will be available from September 2025 with a recommended US retail price of $ 899 (about £ 679 / AU $ 1,379 before tax); Pricing in other countries will be announced shortly.
