- The Nest Mini and Nest Audio smart speakers are not available in the Google Store
- Third-party retailers still list them, but options are limited
- It could be Google’s way of preparing for the arrival of the new Google Home Speaker
The long-awaited Google Home Speaker is nearing a full launch – and another strong clue is that the company’s older models are becoming increasingly difficult to buy.
Suddenly, Google’s Nest Mini and Nest Audio speakers have disappeared from online retailers, having first been seen in Google’s US store. Not only does the listing for both models say “sold out,” but it also says that both devices are “unavailable.”
As for Google’s Canada store, the same is the case, but customers in the UK and Australia can sign up to receive an email notification if it ever comes back in stock.
Outside of the Google Store, finding them in stock is even more of a challenge. Currently, availability is sparse, but there are still ways you can get your hands on one. In the US, Amazon is your best chance to score the Nest Mini, while Best Buy is listing the Nest Audio on sale for $74.99.
If you’re based in the UK, Amazon is the only retailer to stock the Nest Mini for £69.99, but stores such as Argos, Currys and Very no longer stock either model. There are also limited options if you’re in Australia, but it’s still a work in progress on Amazon.
Are Nest Mini and Audio coming back?

It’s not entirely surprising that Google has paused sales of its smart speakers as it prepares to launch its next-generation device, but whether the Nest Mini or Nest Audio will return to sale after the launch of the Google Home Speaker remains to be seen.
As Google has spent quite some time rolling out Gemini tools for the Nest Mini and Nest Audio, it wouldn’t make sense to completely stop production and sales of these models, and with Google notifying UK customers when they will be available again, it gives us more reason to believe that they will return sooner rather than later.
The Nest Mini and Nest Audio speakers have been Google’s flagship smart hubs for the better part of seven years, and now it looks like the company is getting ready to embrace the new Google Home Speaker as their successor – but it’s been quite a process.
The new Google Home Speaker first appeared during last year’s Made by Google event and was officially announced in October 2025, with a launch planned for spring 2026 (or sometime between March and May for those in the southern hemisphere).
While spring has passed and no such speaker has been released, Best Buy Canada listed the device and said it would be ready on June 25. Google still hasn’t confirmed this, but its new smart hub is very much in sight, and it would be good news if this were true.
