Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered strict action against those involved in illegal wheat storage after a three-day delivery period for all stocks declaring their stocks.
She was chairman of a meeting to tackle the question of wheat suspension in the wake of the ongoing flooding situation in the province.
She issued a directive to initiate litigation against those who do not comply with the three-day period.
The Minister of the Minister accepted a proposal that no action should be taken against those who are true to declare their wheat stocks.
She emphasized the need for accurate identification and reporting of wheat stagnations in the province.
The Minister of the Minister claimed that those who are trying to exploit the flooding crisis would not be shown.
She emphasized that certain elements were trying to create artificial lack of wheat that would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
She emphasized that the government must demonstrate its writing to protect the public’s interest and ensure stability on the wheat and flour markets.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz instructed Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) to continuously implement inspections and enforce the laws throughout the province.
She instructed the authority to ensure that the government’s award lists appear at all retail stores and take strict action against the offenders.
She ordered immediate remedy and disciplinary action over the loss of wheat stocks in khanewal due to floods,
The Director General of the Food Department was removed from the office so as not to transport the wheat to a safe place in time, while the Khanewal District Food Controller along with the entire local staff were suspended from the service.
The Minister of the Ministry reiterated that all available resources should be used to identify illegal wheat hershoards along with launching a crash against them at the earliest.
She emphasized that steps should be taken to maintain stable prices for wheat and flour throughout the province.
Meanwhile, chief minister Maryam Nawaz ordered the relevant authorities to give tents for flood victims to protect them from possible rain in the affected areas.
Distribution of tents and other important items for flood victims in various districts are in the process of noticing the chief minister that 2,500 tents had been sent to Jalalpur, 2,500 more were sent to the flood victims of Rahim Yar Khan and 1,000 had been sent to Rajanpur.
The authorities of Rahim Yar Khan evacuated 7,000 people to protect them from potential flooding.
The minister was informed that the evacuation operation from flooded areas was completed using 24 boats.
Officials said that 12 flooding camps had been established in the district, where steps had been taken to ensure cleanliness and cleansing to prevent infectious diseases. Clinics-on-wheels are also deployed near flooding camps.
