Dreame makes some of the best robot vacuums on the market, and I had a sneak peek at its latest flagship at CES 2026. The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is available for pre-order now in the US, and it boasts a number of major upgrades over its predecessor. Considering that model scored a near-perfect 4.5 stars in our Dreame X50 review, I have very high hopes for this updated version.
The X50 is one of the few Dreame robot vacuums to be showcased at CES – other models include the Cyber10 Ultra, with an arm that can pick up various tools, and the Cyber X, which comes with a pod that allows it to climb up and down stairs. (In fact, those eye-catching bots weren’t even the most headline-grabbing part of Dreame’s showcase: the brand used CES to announce its expansion into a massive number of new tech categories—but that’s another story.)
1. It is much thinner
The headline feature that Dreame focuses on is how thin the new bot is. Like its predecessor, the Dreame X60 Max has a top-mounted LiDAR puck that can be retracted until it’s flush with the top of the robot. This happens when the robot senses that it is entering a room with low height.
The X60 is, however, significantly thinner than the X50 in the first place. With the puck retracted, it comes in at 3.13 inches / 7.95 cm tall (in contrast, the older version came in at 3.5 inches / 8.9 cm). It’s right up there with the cheapest robot vacuums on the market – on par with the likes of the Roborock Saros 10R, or maybe even a little bit thinner.
Why is height important? It affects where the robot can and cannot clean. For example, it can be the difference between whether the bot can vacuum under your sofa or not. This is a great advantage because these inaccessible places often collect dust and are also out of reach for manual vacuum cleaners unless you commit to a major furniture rearrangement.
2. It has scorching hot mop wash
Like most premium robot vacuums, the X60 has a dock that can clean the bot’s mop pads. Here, Dreame has increased the temperature of the mop sink to a scorching 212F / 100C – boiling point. The idea is that it will cut through any lingering grease and ensure your pads are squeaky clean before their next mopping session. In comparison, the X50 could clean up to 176F / 80C, which is still nice and warm.
3. It can vault over even higher thresholds
The X50 introduced Dreame’s ProLeap system: tiny little feet that raise the bot up and enable it to cross steps up to 2.4 inches / 6 cm in height. For the X60, that system has been improved, and the robovac can now handle obstacles up to 3.47 inches / 8.8 cm.
Like the thinner build, this improvement is all about expanding the number of places this bot can reach. If you have a particularly high threshold, it can potentially make a room – or even an entire part of your home – inaccessible to the robot vacuum. That is, unless you take the time to manually lift it over the threshold each time, which somewhat negates the hands-off advantage of choosing a robovac in the first place. With the new ProLeap system, the X60 can move freely and push itself over steps and obstacles as it goes.
Great benefits
Those are the big headline improvements, but there are many more tweaks and changes under the hood that could make a big difference for certain users. For example, the X60’s dock has a dual-solution compartment that means it can dispense not only regular floor cleaner, but also a specific solution designed to eliminate pet odors. The basics have also been given a boost, with the Dreame promising faster navigation and quicker responses, improved sensors that can detect things like pet hair and pale liquids, and more powerful suction.
At the moment, the X60 Max Ultra Complete is US only – it’s available for pre-order from dreametech.com now, with shipping starting February 10th. At list price it’s $1,699.99 (equivalent to around £1,260 / AU$2,525), but I suspect it won’t be regularly sold at that price, the current price, the £400 bundle of accessories, cleaning solution and an extended warranty.
Dreame has a strong presence in the UK and Australia and I expect the X60 to arrive in both markets before long.
