Lawyers demand Imran Khan’s medical certificate

Members of Insaf Lawyers Wing (ILF), Rawalpindi High Court Bar and District Bar Associations reached Central Jail Adiala on Saturday evening and submitted a written request to Superintendent Jail Adiala for the medical report of PTI founder Imran Khan’s eye surgery.

The lawyers on Saturday staged a protest rally at the Rawalpindi District Courts against the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, the suspension of meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan and the performance of his eye surgery without informing his family.

The advocates were led by ILF District General Secretary Raja Mateen and Central Executive Committee member Noorul Islam Advocate. The delegation also included Hasnain Sumbal, Chaudhry Owais, Jamshed Mahmood Advocates. While talking to the media outside the jail, they said that they submitted a request to the jail authorities and requested Adiala Jail Superintendent to submit the medical report on the eye surgery of the founder of PTI Imran Khan.

They further said that they would take this matter to the International Human Rights Organization on February 2 and use all options in this regard, including constitutional, legal and judicial means. protesting outside the prison, we condemn all illegal measures and will also oppose strongly.

The protest rally was led by Punjab Bar Council member Faisal Mahmood Malik along with advocates Rizwan Akhtar, Ghulam Farooq Awan, Tabish Sadozai and Aamir Malik.

Prior to the convention, the lawyers held a meeting in the District Attorney’s Hall. Addressing the gathering, Faisal Malik, Rizwan Akhtar and Ghulam Farooq Awan described the ban on meetings with Imran Khan as illegal and unconstitutional.

They further stated that it was also unconstitutional to transfer him to the hospital and perform eye surgery without informing his family. The speakers announced that legal proceedings would be initiated against all doctors involved, for whom the necessary permits were sought.

The lawyers announced a complete strike on February 8. Lawyers, their clerks and support staff will observe a full shutdown, with offices remaining closed and vehicles not taken out. The leaders declared that protests would be held on the streets, at court premises and at major intersections as part of a wider struggle for systemic change, adding that the legal fraternity would no longer remain silent.

They also demanded that Imran Khan be transferred from jail to hospital for medical treatment and that the cases against him be fixed for hearing.

Prayers were offered for Imran Khan’s recovery during the gathering.
