A medical examination of Imran was completed in Adiala and the doctors are following up on his affected eye
RAWALPINDI:
Islamabad police on Tuesday prevented KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi from proceeding to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi where he intended to meet jailed PTI founder Imran Khan.
Afridi, who left for Rawalpindi jail earlier in the day, was accompanied by Imran’s sisters and several PTI workers and leaders.
However, police stopped the delegation at Chungi No26 in Islamabad from proceeding towards Adiala Jail despite heated arguments, after which the party leaders staged a sit-in.
Meanwhile, several PTI leaders including Salman Akram Raja, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Bushra Bibi’s daughters reached Adiala Jail but were not allowed to meet Imran.

While addressing the media at Peshawar Mor interchange on Srinagar Highway, Afridi said he had traveled to Islamabad peacefully to express solidarity with Imran’s sisters.
He said party workers showed restraint, discipline and responsibility despite repeated obstacles and restrictions.
“It is deeply troubling that the elected chief executive of a province, accompanied by his cabinet, has been prevented from continuing,” he said, describing the move as inconsistent with democratic norms and reflecting a discriminatory approach to a federating entity.

A medical examination of Imran was completed at Adiala prison on Tuesday, with a team of doctors conducting a follow-up assessment of his affected eye along with a wider health review, according to prison sources.
Sources said the medical team, after completing the examination, left the Adiala jail after a visit that lasted nearly one and a half hours.
