The New York Knicks’ miraculous Game 4 comeback earlier this week resulted in a teenager being knocked into a coma.
The New York Police Department said Friday that a “group approached a 17-year-old” near Madison Square Garden and “got into an argument” before one person “punched and kicked the teenager.”
“He had a seizure and was in a coma,” the NYPD said of the teenager.

According to the New York Post, the wanted person was the aggressor when he yelled, “Spurs are up right now. We’re winning. Spurs in 7.”
Someone in the injured teen’s group, but not the teen, responded, “”F— Spurs. Suck my d—.”
A fight then ensued, resulting in the teenager’s injuries.
The Post said the teenager has come out of a coma and was listed in critical but stable condition.
“He’s pulling through. He’s responding,” the teenager’s mother told the Post, adding that he should be taken out of the intensive care unit.

“The doctor said they’re going to take him off the ventilator today. Hopefully he’ll be in a regular room tomorrow.”
The Knicks’ comeback led to madness in the streets. However, it resulted in 15 arrests and eggs being thrown at Victor Wembanyama as Spurs returned to their team hotel.
Watch parties have turned violent throughout the Knicks’ run. During the Eastern Conference Finals, watch parties outside of MSG were canceled, but they were brought back to start Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals. They were stopped for Game 3 because of President Donald Trump’s attendance, and while a 1,000-person party was planned for Game 4, owner James Dolan rejected the idea, saying he didn’t want thousands of others shut out of the event.
Numerous fights and other chaotic behavior throughout the city have been caught on camera.
