President signs the Finance Act 2026-27

The implementation of the nearly 18.71 trillion Rs. federal budget for FY2026-27 officially begins on July 1

ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday signed into law the Finance Bill 2026-27 after its passage by Parliament, paving the way for the federal budget to come into effect from July 1 following its publication in the Official Gazette.

With the assent of the President, the Finance Bill will now be sent to the Printing Corporation of Pakistan for publication in the Official Gazette.

Once the gazette notice is issued, the Finance Bill 2026–27 will formally come into force, bringing the federal budget and all related fiscal measures into effect at the start of the new fiscal year.

According to Finance Ministry sources, the implementation of the nearly 18.71 trillion Rs. federal budget for FY2026-27 officially begin on July 1.

All fiscal measures, tax revisions and other fiscal provisions of the Finance Act also come into force from the same date.

The Finance Act stipulates a seven percent increase in government employees’ salaries and pensions, while the revised tax and charge structure approved under the budget also comes into effect from 1 July.
