Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi will take on a one-day visit to Pakistan on Monday, sources confirmed.
The Iranian Foreign Minister will be accompanied by a high -level delegation with meetings planned in Islamabad, including a key session with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to diplomatic sources, discussions will focus on bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran as well as the current regional situation, especially in connection with the recent Pakistan-India tensions.
After the end of meetings in Islamabad, the Iranian delegation is expected to depart for India on Tuesday as part of a regional diplomatic search.
The visit comes in the midst of escalating tension between India and Pakistan after a deadly attack in IIOJK on April 22, which left 26 people died. India has accused Pakistan of involvement in the incident – an allegation Islamabad denies.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has already held separate phone calls with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expresses compassion for the recent terrorist attack and emphasizes the need for a collective attitude against terrorism.
During his call with Sharif, he expressed concern about rising tensions and confirmed Iran’s commitment to regional stability.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi also spoke with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and conveyed Tehran’s emergency preparedness to help facilitate dialogue between India and Pakistan to facilitate tension.
