Montreal: Summer McIntosh Sack Sack his third world record on Wednesday on Wednesday and clocked 4min 23.65 seconds to improve his own 400 medley record at the Canadian swimming trials in Victoria.
The 18-year-old Canadian wonder child, a three-time Olympic gold medal, made another impressive marker ahead of next month’s World Cups in Singapore with a dominant performance.
McIntosh’s blistering time beat her old brand at 4: 24.38, put in Toronto last May by the Canadian Olympic attempts.
Mcintosh’s attack on his own world record started with a steady start, with the teenage ending the opening of butterfly legs at a world record pace.
She was more than a second in front of the world record at the halfway stage, and although that margin fell to a tenth of a second after the breast break, she produced an electrifying freestyle down the stretch to end a shining performance.
“When I went in tonight, I knew I could do something really special because this has probably been the best meeting of my career,” Mcintosh said afterwards in a Poold Interview.
“World records are made to be broken. So when I leave this sport, I will make sure this record is as soon as possible.
“It really keeps me going because I know there will always be the next generation of kids growing up and they will hunt the record. So I have to give them my best efforts to see how long it can stand.”
Wednesday’s record -breaking display was the latest post for an impressive catalog of performances she has produced this week in British Columbia.
On Saturday, she crushed the women’s 400 m freestyle record and cuts more than another from the Australian star Ariarne titus the world best from 2023.
She then clocked the third fastest 800 m freestyle in history on Sunday, before divoring the pool on Monday to wipe out the Hungarian big Katinka Hosszu’s decade -old 200m medley world record.
Mcintosh, gold medals in 200m butterfly, 200 m medley and 400 m medley at last year’s Parisol, now goes to next month’s aiming to add her collection of four World Cup gold medals.
