Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Saturday that Tony Hemming has given up his role as chief curator.
He had taken over the position last July. Hemming has stepped down after 13 months, despite signing a two-year contract.
The Western Australian Western Australian joined the PCB after his contract with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had expired.
Meanwhile, the sources have claimed that Hemming has been in conversations with BCB to remodel the role.
Under his stint as PCB chef curator, Hemming prepared seats for Pakistan’s ICC World Test Championship matches against Bangladesh (two in August/September) and England (three in October) last year.
Hemming also curated seats for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, held in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
For the unwarter one, Tony Hemming is a highly respected curator with almost four decades of experience.
He has worked in various iconic cricket areas in Australia, including Melbourne, Perth and Tasmania, as well as in countries such as Bangladesh, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, where he was ICC’s main curator from 2007 to 2017 in Dubai.
During his time with ICC, Hemming also monitored the pitch preparation at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, which was one of Pakistan’s home places between 2009 and 2019.
It should be noted that Hemming had replaced Zahid, who started his career by joining the chairman of the PCB curator committee in 2001.
Zahid was later appointed the main curator in 2004. He withdrew from this role back in 2020, but was re -appointed by former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja in 2021.
