Love Island USA bombshell Alannah Keyser is speaking out following her abrupt exit from the reality dating show.
In a TikTok posted on Saturday, June 27, Alannah addressed a resurfaced video of herself singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contained a racial slur, while also disputing screenshots circulating online.
“Hey everyone, I’m coming here to address some things that have been circulating online,” Keyser began.
“I want to start by addressing the video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contains a racial slur. I’m sorry to whoever saw that video and was offended by it. That was never my intention,” she said.
“The video is from six years ago and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore.”
The 21-year-old admitted the backlash was difficult to deal with.
“When I first found out about everything that was going on, it really broke my heart,” she said, adding, “But this has definitely been a learning curve for me. And it’s a shame that I didn’t get a chance to really show my personality and who I am.”
Peacock confirmed Alannah’s departure during the June 25 episode.
According to the network, the resurfaced videos and online postings only became public after she entered the villa and were therefore not available during the series’ pre-taping vetting process.
Keyser’s removal comes after another contestant, Vasana Montgomery, was also kicked due to a similar controversy.
