Luckily for us, it had incredibly early confirmation. We’ve known all along that Aang (Gordon Cormier) must learn all four elemental bending abilities to stop the Fire Nation, led by Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim), from controlling the four nations.
As our current batch of episodes draws to a close, we’re still a long way from reaching that conclusion. Enter Avatar: The Last Airbender season 3, which is already ready to take over.

It is worth pointing out that at the time of writing, Avatar: The Last Airbender season 3 does not have a confirmed release date or window. However, internet rumors suggest that we could see new episodes sometime in the summer of 2027.

Seasons 2 and 3 were shot back to back, and filming for new episodes was completed in November 2025.
At worst, we can expect Season 3 sometime in 2028, given that there has been a two-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2.

Dolly De Leon as Lo and Li, Jon Jon Briones as Piandao, and Tantoo Cardinal as Hama were all initially tipped to appear in the second plot, but do not. Despite this, we can expect them to feature in Season 3.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 3 Plot Predictions
Spoilers for Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 ahead.
We’re pretty sure season 3 will adapt the third one directly Avatar book that follows Aang learning firebending, infiltrating the Fire Nation and preparing for his climactic showdown with Fire Lord Ozai before Sozin’s Comet arrives. So not too much.
We also know that Zuko will eventually team up with Aang and the gang to make this happen, so we can expect to see some more emotional upheavals from him.
Obviously, finding out if Aang actually survived the battle is a top priority for Season 3. But the mere fact that Season 3 has already been greenlit basically confirms that we’ll be seeing Aang again after all.
Will there be more seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender?
At the time of writing, nothing has been published. Narrative-wise, it makes sense that Season 3 is the last, with Books 1, 2, and 3 all being adapted into each.
But the fact that there are so many written and comic book sequels means the possibilities can be endless. Even if we don’t get a straight season 4, Netflix could invest in a ton of spinoffs.
