‘Bridgerton’ star Phoebe Dynevor breaks silence on comeback

Dear Bridgeton fans: Daphne hasn’t joked ton – she just hasn’t been invited back… yet.

Phoebe Dynevor, who directed season one of Bridgerton along with Regé-Jean Page, sets the record straight about her noticeable absence.

“I just want to say that I haven’t received a call,” she shared, “and when I do get that call, I’ll be there if I can.”

Translation: the duchess is booked… but available.

After a brief stint in season two – during which Daphne offered some sisterly wisdom to Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony – the character quietly disappeared as the show moved on to other siblings’ love lives.

According to Dynevor, it wasn’t exactly part of some grand plan.

“When the first season came out, they didn’t know what to put in place,” she explained. “So we were like the ones who got away, I guess in a certain way… I would always go back if asked.”

So yes, she is open. Very open.

As for her on-screen husband, things are a little more complicated – Page has been less keen to echo Simon. But don’t expect a reworked plot twist.

Showrunner Jess Brownell quickly shut down that idea, calling it a “disservice” to what the original cast was building.

“We would love to potentially have them back … when we have something really meaty for them.”

For now, the future seasons are already lined up – but if Daphne returns, other than that it will be worth the wait.
