BTS fans, Swifties on daggers drawn over Jungkook’s song ‘Yes or No’

Taylor Swift and BTS have two of the biggest fandoms in the music industry, and the two groups are once again clashing over Jungkook’s album Golden.

Swifties believe that the track Yes or no released in 2023 sounds too much like the pop superstar’s Daylight released in 2019, and the two fandoms began arguing over whether it’s plagiarism, a case of inspiration, or just a theory.

Although the song has been out for a few years now, neither artist has spoken publicly about it, but it’s something their fandom is still fighting over.

Sharing a side-by-side clip of the songs, one fan drew the similarities, starting a war in the comments, with one social media user writing, “It shows that Jungkook is clearly the better vocalist.”

One Swiftie added: “Hasn’t BTS always been known for plagiarism? Don’t be surprised they always plagiarize.”

But some claimed, “This isn’t copied. It’s just a melody with two notes with the same rhythm,” and “Oh thanks, Jungkook isn’t sampling her music, he doesn’t need to copy anyone else, especially her.”

One chimed in, “how do you feel about a musician? Stuff like that doesn’t even qualify as plagiarism. Seriously go to school. If you’re that crazy, tell Taylor to sue Ed Sheeran and she’ll laugh in your face,” referring to the fact that Swift’s friend Sheeran is the song’s composer and lyricist.

While the battle may be settled for now, it appears to be far from over.
