Both ministers agree to remain in close contact, while Kuwaiti FM praises Pakistan’s efforts for lasting peace and security

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke on Saturday with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced.
“The two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and exchanged views on its wider economic implications,” the Foreign Office said in a post on X.
It added that Dar “underscored Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote constructive engagement and diplomacy in support of peace and stability in the region and beyond.”

The two leaders discussed developments in the regional situation and exchanged views on its wider economic implications.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister, on the other hand, “praised Pakistan’s sincere efforts aimed at promoting lasting peace and security for the Ummah as well as the wider international community.”
Both Dar and Al-Sabbah reaffirmed the “strong fraternal ties” between their countries and agreed to remain in close contact, MOFA concluded.
In an earlier telephone conversation with FM Dar, Al-Sabah had again praised Pakistan for its role in the US-Iran peace talks.

Dar has continued to receive international recognition for his diplomatic leadership as Pakistan has positioned itself at the center of high-stakes mediation efforts during the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel and Iran.
Hosting the “Islamabad Talks” in early April, which although ended without a breakthrough, Pakistan has continued its diplomatic efforts, engaging with leaders across the Gulf and beyond.
On April 27, FM Dar held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada and Egypt, where they discussed the development of the regional situation and emphasized the importance of diplomacy for peace. Three days later, EU Vice President Kaja Kallas also spoke to Dar and appreciated Pakistan’s continued constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam on April 28 expressed their appreciation to Dar for his facilitation of US-Iran talks.
In recent weeks, senior officials and influential voices from more than ten countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United States, China, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Bahrain and Uzbekistan, have publicly acknowledged Dar’s role in facilitating the ceasefire negotiations.
