Drew Barrymore has revealed the secret behind her lifelong friendship with Cameron Diaz, sharing a heartwarming tribute on social media to celebrate their decades-long bond.
The 51-year-old actress, whose stunning $4.9 million New York home has finally found a buyer, took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to reflect on her relationship with her former co-star.
Uploading a series of cheerful indoor selfies in a carousel post, Barrymore included text on one of the photos saying that she and Cameron have been best friends since they were teenagers.
The Ever After star used the cute public platform to explain exactly what has kept the Hollywood duo so close for nearly forty years.
Barrymore wrote a message explaining that Diaz has always been there for her through the good times and the bad, before adding one last photo of the pair with the simple caption,
“That’s my reason.”
She reached out directly to her followers, asking them who had been there for them and urging everyone to show people the love they deserve, before signing off with a direct tag to her best friend, saying: “Hey @camerondiaz I love you.”
The close couple actually first crossed paths long before they found global fame on the big screen.
During an Instagram Live cooking session back in 2021, they revealed they met when Barrymore was just 14 and working in a coffee house while a 16-year-old Diaz was working as a junior model.
They gave fans a pretty hilarious insight into how they keep in touch today, with Barrymore revealing that they regularly send each other videos from inside their respective closets of themselves dressing up, dancing around and sharing information.
