Emily Blunt’s daughters are fully on board The Devil Wears Prada revival, and they’ve done their homework ahead of the sequel’s release.
speaks to E! NewsBlunt, 43, revealed that Hazel, 12, and Violet, 9, who she shares with John Krasinski, only saw the original film for the first time about a year ago, largely because their friends had become obsessed with it.
And the night before she spoke, they saw it all again.
“My kids saw it for the first time maybe a year or so ago, and partly because their friends are very interested in it,” she said.
“And then my kids watched it again last night because they know they’re going to see this one soon, and they just love it.”
Blunt and Krasinski have always been particularly private about their family life, keeping their daughters largely out of the public eye.
The girls were famously unimpressed by their mother’s famous co-stars until Ryan Gosling came along.
After seeing him play Ken in Barbie, Hazel and Violet were apparently beside themselves when Blunt worked with him on The fall guy.
“They’ve never had any interest in anyone I’ve ever worked with,” Blunt continued Sunday Sitdown with Willie Geist in January 2024. “But Ryan is, Ryan is to them.”
Despite a busy acting schedule, Blunt is conscious of being there for her children at the end of each day.
“When my kids start to find me repulsive, when mom doesn’t rule, I’ll do it, but I feel bedtime is this important anchor,” she shared DOORS magazine.
“The 10-minute chats where they tell you everything – you don’t want to miss them.”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 opens in theaters May 1.
