Family guy will return with its annual Halloween and holiday specials exclusively on Hulu this year, with Academy Award winner Kieran Culkin joining the cast to voice the Devil in a first-look announcement from the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel.
Showrunner and executive producer Rich Appel revealed the news onstage alongside cast members Alex Borstein, Arif Zahir and Jennifer Tilly, and co-executive producer and supervising director Peter Shin.
The Halloween installment, titled Happy Hell-o-weensees Brian and Stewie find themselves trapped in Hell, “paying for 24 seasons of bad behavior,” according to their official logline.
Culkin’s Devil eventually becomes so annoyed with the pair that he ends up giving them the keys to the underworld.
Borstein joked during the panel that casting Culkin as Satan was tantamount to typecasting given his Emmy-winning turn as the ruthless Roman Roy on succession, called it “the role he was born to play”, while fellow player Seth Green agreed it was “not a stretch” and said the team was “very excited to have him on board.”

Its logline finds Peter competing against the rest of Quahog to be named the town’s official Santa Claus; when he inevitably loses, viewers are promised that he chooses to process the disappointment Family guy way rather than the mature.
The announcement continues a series of Hulu exclusives for the animated sitcom, now entering its 25th season, which will return to Fox in early 2027 before streaming the next day on Hulu.
Culkin’s casting comes on the heels of a breakout stretch for the actor that follows his Succession finale and ahead of his upcoming role in The Hunger Games franchise.
The family guy news arrived alongside a broader slate of Hulu animation announcements at Comic-Con, including a new holiday card for Bob’s Burgers and a trailer for it Futurama14th season.
