CDF will hold meetings with military, political leadership to discuss issues of common interest, state media say

The Chief of Defense (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Turkiye on Monday for a two-day official visit, Pakistan TV reported.

Citing security sources, Pakistan TV said CDF Munir received a warm welcome on his arrival in Turkiye. During the visit, he will hold important meetings with Turkey’s military and political leadership to discuss issues of common interest.
No further details of the visit’s agenda were released.

A week ago, CDF Munir was in Iran to attend Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s funeral along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The visit comes a month after Turkish Land Forces Commander General Metin Tokel summoned CDF Munir at the headquarters in Rawalpindi. General Tokel had expressed his commitment to further strengthen defense cooperation and institutional links between the armed forces of the two fraternal nations.
General Tokel also called on Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.
CDF Munir visited Tehran in May as part of Pakistan’s mediation efforts between the US and Iran. During the visit, he met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
CDF Munir has played a central role in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran, with Pakistan helping to broker a temporary ceasefire and subsequent negotiations between the two sides.
