FM Dar, Iranian FM Araghchi discusses current regional developments, peace efforts

Araghchi thanks Pakistan for its constructive role, the mediation efforts between the parties

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar discussed the current regional situation and Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the region with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in a telephone call late Sunday evening.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Araghchi thanked Pakistan for its constructive role and mediation efforts between the parties.

The statement said Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promote constructive engagement and stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path towards peaceful resolution of issues and achievement of lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Speaking to FM Ishaq Dar on Sunday, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Ayman Safadi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and continued efforts for peace.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders discussed the developing regional situation and exchanged views on efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

The statement added that Jordan “appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and continued efforts for peace, dialogue and regional stability in the context of the ongoing tensions in the region.”

“FM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promote constructive engagement among all parties in support of stability and peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy,” it said.

The ministry added that the two leaders also reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Jordan and stressed the importance of continued cooperation in bilateral and multilateral fora.
