- The Dyson Supersonic Travel is a lightweight, compact hair dryer
- It is compatible with the same accessories as full-size Supersonic dryers
- It automatically adjusts to match the voltage of the country you are visiting
Dyson has launched a new travel-sized hair dryer that’s small enough to pack in your carry-on and safe to use anywhere in the world. The Dyson Supersonic Travel is 32% lighter and 25% smaller than the original Dyson Supersonic (released in 2016), but still offers intelligent heat management to prevent damage
If you already have a Dyson Supersonic or Supersonic Nural hair dryer, you’ll be pleased to know that the new travel-sized model is compatible with all the same accessories, so you don’t have to struggle without your favorite diffuser, wide-tooth comb or smoothing nozzle.
The attachment is held in place with magnets so you can click them on and off and your Supersonic dryer will recognize which one is currently in place. When we tested the original Supersonic, we were particularly impressed with the Flyaway attachment, which tames stray hairs using the same technology as the Dyson Airwrap.

Voltage can be a problem when traveling with electrical appliances, but the Dyson Supersonic Travel automatically adapts to the country you’re visiting, so you can take it around the world without worrying about damaging the motor or experiencing poor performance.
During styling, the Dyson Supersonic Travel measures the airflow temperature 100 times a second to ensure your hair doesn’t overheat, which can cause damage over time – a welcome change from hotel hairdryers, which tend to either hiss hot air into your hair or blast it with heat.
The Dyson Supersonic Travel is available to buy now direct from Dyson for £249.99 (approx $340 / AU$470). The company has not yet announced dates for its international launch.
