- GTA 5 voice actor Jay Klaitz shuts down rumors that he is acting GTA 6is Carl Hampton
- Klaitz says: “I’m just telling you, it’s not me”
- He adds that he would love to play a “proper villain” or even a “super good guy” if Rockstar offered
Jay Klaitz, the voice actor behind Grand Theft Auto 5Heist mastermind Lester Crest has shut down rumors that he is playing a character in Grand Theft Auto 6.
Klaitz spoke to online marketplace Eldorado and was asked about a fan theory that he is playing Carl Hampton, a character who has appeared in both GTA 6 trailers and appears as a prominent supporting character.
Klaitz immediately denied playing the character, saying, “No, it’s not me. I’ll just say it straight, it’s not me.”
He continued, adding: “I’m not allowed to talk about things I’m not allowed to talk about, but I can say something is not me and it’s not me.”
Although it doesn’t look like Klaitz will be starring in the next one GTA game, he revealed that his dream role would be a “real villain” if offered by Rockstar Games.
“I’d say I’d be most interested in being a proper ‘villain’ villain,” Klaitz said. “Lester lived in this kind of in-between where he’s a villain with a heart of gold who lives in the gray areas in terms of his morals, but he was still a good guy and looked out for his people.”
The actor also admitted that while he would love to play a villain, he would also like to play a good guy.
“It would be fun to lean harder into being an out and out villain, or actually, now I’m saying it out loud, maybe it would be fun to be a super good guy as well,” he said. “Just lean all the way one way or the other, because with Lester, I’ve always been in that kind of middle ground.”
Grand Theft Auto 6 launching on November 19, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. There are still no pre-order or pricing details yet, but rumors suggest it could cost as high as $100.
In the same interview, Klaitz said he wouldn’t pay $100 to play GTA 6 and suggested that Rockstar Games should keep it reasonable for the wider player base.
