- Two more new toys Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been revealed
- The tie-ins seem to spoil a major plot point in the Marvel movie
- They’ve also excited fans about a possible re-creation of a very specific comic book site
Two more new toys Spider-Man: Brand New Day have been revealed – and they appear to spoil a major plot point in the upcoming film.
Tie-in merchandise revealed on the official Hasbro Pulse website last weekend (April 25/26) seems to hint that the titular webslinger will be forced to battle another Marvel hero in his next solo film. Potentially major spoilers immediately follow Brand new day‘s historyso don’t continue if you don’t want to know more.
One of two figures that can be pre-ordered Spider-Man 4‘s debut, confirms that The Hulk, aka Bruce Banner’s superhuman alter-ego, appears in the Marvel Phase 6 movie.

We already knew Banner was going to show up. In fact, reports first surfaced that Banner would appear in Spider-Man 4 May last year, but that was first Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s first trailer was released in mid-March that this was confirmed. To find out who else is in the upcoming movie, read my Spider-Man 4 cast and character guide.
But I digress. There had been speculation that Banner’s gamma-irradiated alias would return as well, but until now Sony and Marvel had not publicly acknowledged that the Hulk would be part of the deal.
This affiliate product coupled with the recent reveal of a Brand new day The LEGO set not only confirmed that these rumors were true, but also that Spider-Man will be fighting Hulk’s wild form at some point. In fact, the Hasbro Pulse Hulk collectible comes packaged with a webbing accessory that can be attached to Hulk’s hands, indicating that Spidey will have to turn on his fellow friend to stop him from rampaging through New York City.
Why this will happen is, at least publicly, unclear. But considering we haven’t seen Savage Hulk since Avengers: Infinity Warit takes something – or someone – with great power to unlock the raging, unstoppable Hulk persona from causing widespread destruction.
Why Marvel fans are excited for a meeting between Spider-Man and Hulk
Interestingly, it’s not a likely duel between the wallcrawler and The Hulk that has piqued fans’ curiosity, but the description accompanying the new Hulk figure.
“Spider-Man is surprised to see the Hulk again after so much time has passed and has no idea if the Hulk will remember him,” it says. “Will Hulk be friend or foe?”
It is the first part of the description that has excited fans. Why? Because it might be teasing the live-action adaptation of a fan-favorite Marvel comic panel.
IN The Immortal Hulk: Great Power Volume 1 #1which takes place years after the controversial Spider-Man: One New Day story, also known as when Peter Parker traded his marriage to make everyone forget he was Spider-Man, Hulk tells Parker that he never forgot he was Spider-Man. This is because, at the time the demon lord Mephisto cast a spell that made the world forget Parker was a superhero, Banner was affected by said magic, but the Hulk – who in the comics is considered a separate entity from Banner – was not affected.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home loosely adapt One more day‘s history, and with Brand new day Taking inspiration from its comic book namesake that followed, some believe Spidey’s next Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) project will recreate this moment. Well, as long as the eponymous hero finds a way to placate the Hulk.
“Oh sh**t, are we actually getting that one scene?” BrockPurdytheGoat420 wrote on Reddit. “I think that makes a lot of sense,” LTM438 replied. “The Hulk is obviously an alter, but Bruce’s brain also literally physically transforms when Bruce Hulks out, which is, I’d assume, why Bruce never remembers any of it.”
“I’d love this,” Unique_Unorque agreed, before Wack_photgraphy added: “I hope so. That would be bad. We haven’t seen Hulk ‘hulk’ [out]’ for a long time. It would be nice if he had a touching moment with Peter, as well as all the carnage that might ensue.”
However, there are others who are not convinced that this scene will play out.
In the same Reddit from which the above comments were pulled, individuals point that out Brand new day will technically be the first time Parker and Banner meet in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Of course they were both present at Tony Stark’s funeral in Avengers: Endgamebut they’ve never directly interacted as their superhero alter egos, so how would The Hulk know Parker is Spider-Man?
It’s a valid argument that would certainly prevent the aforementioned comic book scene from being recreated in Spider-Man 4. While I’m in the camp of those who would love to see this translated from page to screen, I can’t see it happening for the above reason. I hope I’m wrong though!
