The NBA is reportedly investigating two fans who allegedly directed profane remarks at New York Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson during Game 1 of the NBA Finals at Frost Bank Center on Wednesday night.
The two fans reportedly yelled at Brunson for flopping with vulgar remarks, according to NBA reporter Chris Haynes. The jeers started coming with 20 seconds left in the game when the Knicks had taken a significant lead.
Brunson, 29, approached referee Scott Foster after the fight ended to tell him what happened and asked him to do something about it, according to the report. Foster was within earshot of the fans and heard the derogatory remarks.

While the fans certainly annoyed the Knicks’ captain, the Spurs’ fourth quarter defense did not. Brunson scored 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter on 5-of-9 shooting, shutting out the Spurs in the process in their 105-95 victory.
Although Brunson didn’t shoot the ball very well throughout the game, going 12-of-31 from the field and 2-of-9 from 3-point range, he came through when it mattered most to power the Knicks to a Game 1 road win. He also had three rebounds and two assists in the win.
