NEW Strands today (game #782) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #782, are…
- SHOUT
- WHOOP
- CATERWAUL
- THE BELLOWS
- HOLLER
- WAR
- SPANGRAM: LETSGETLOUD
- My assessment: Hard
- My score: 1 tip
“Hullabaloo” is one of those words that’s fun to say, but in common with all words these days, it straddles the line between giddy and annoying – fun if you’re the one doing the caterwauling, less fun if you’re trying to do a word search while someone’s caterwauling.
Among them all, the WHOOP is the most acceptable and something people are allowed to do as a sign of appreciation at a concert or at the end of a play, but the rest are the kind of activities that would get an adult arrested or at least stared at.
In addition to the pleasant word search, I was also happy to see the return of the unnecessarily long spangram after a sensible line – albeit one that requires an apostrophe.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Thursday, April 23, Game #781)
- THUNDER
- THE UNDERWORLD
- MARRIAGE
- LOVE
- HARVEST
- WISDOM
- SPANGRAM: DOMAIN
