NEW Strands today (game #831) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #831, are…

- SPANGRAM: PARTS OF SPEECH
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 2 hints
I love the song Something to talk about by Badly Drawn Boy so I hummed this to myself as I played today’s Strands. I bet I wasn’t the only one.
Meanwhile, I really struggled with today’s match. The first two words I spotted, BODY and POINT, came when I was looking for words that weren’t puns, and neither helped me push forward as I couldn’t see the connection between them.
It took two more hints, HOOK and TOPIC, before I finally got that the theme was about having a conversation. I’m so used to the Strands themes being obtuse that I often miss them when they’re obvious.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Thursday, June 11, Game #830)
- BLUES
- FUSE
- SELECT
- USE
- SCHMOOZE
- SHOE
- CRUISE
- SPANGRAM: RHYME TIME
