A new NEW Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone – meaning some people always play ‘today’s game’ while others play ‘yesterday’s’. If you’re looking for the Sunday puzzle instead then click here: NEW Strand’s Tips and Answers for Sunday, June 7 (Game #826).
Strands is the NYT’s latest word game, following the likes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections – and it’s great fun. It can be difficult though, so read on for my Strands tips.

NEW Strands today (game #827) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #827, are…
- CHIPS
- SHORT
- TILES
- BELTS
- TOKENS
- DICE
- SPINNERS
- SPANGRAM: GAMENIGHT
- My assessment: Hard
- My score: Perfect
After getting the CHIPS, I decided that today’s theme had to have something to do with casinos and gambling, which was more or less on the right track.
Thanks to many of the game words being short, I was able to rattle through the search fairly quickly, pausing only after SPINNERS – which finally made me realize that the GAMENIGHT in question was actually about analog board games.
I love board games, but I lack the patience to complete most of them – the same character flaw is possibly also why I’ve never watched a complete game of cricket, start 100 times more books than I finish and check the length of a movie before committing to a theatre. Honestly, it’s a miracle that I make it to the end of the game of Strands.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Sunday, June 7, Game #826)
- BULL FROG
- SNAKE
- tortoise
- CHAMELEON
- CROCODILE
- SPANGRAM: COLD-BLOODED
