NEW Strands today (game #773) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #773, are…
- TOPAZ
- TURQUOISE
- OPAL
- THE YARN
- DIAMOND
- PERIDOT
- SPANGRAM: BIRTHSTONE
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 2 hints
After seeing “birth” on the board, it took me a while to connect it to the rest of the spanframe and find the BIRTHSTONE; I had expected it to be a birthday.
From here it was just a matter of finding gems that represent specific months – of which I know a total of zero, despite having bought a few as gifts over the years.
It was quite a struggle then, but the letters Z and Q helped narrow things down and point to TOPAZ and TURKISH, plus OPAL – as it was sandwiched between them. With my initial findings out of the way, I was able to navigate the rest of the game, but still it took me a hint and continued at a snail’s pace.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Tuesday, April 14, Game #772)
- HAZY
- THE VEIL
- SOFT
- THE CLOUDY
- THE FALL
- MUFFLED
- BEDIMMED
- SPAN FRAME: OUT FOCUS
