Looking for a different day?
A new NEW Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone – meaning some people always play ‘today’s game’ while others play ‘yesterday’s’. If you’re looking for the Tuesday puzzle instead then click here: NEW Strand’s Hints and Answers for Tuesday, June 16 (Game #835).

NEW Strands today (game #836) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #836, are…
- BUCKET
- TRACTOR
- SAW HORSE
- FORK
- WHEELBARROW
- FRAMEWORK: AGRICULTURE
- My assessment: Hard
- My score: 2 hints
I was completely shocked when “horse” and “horses” both came up as non-play words, as I had assumed we were looking for the names of animals that had to stay “in the barn”.
Fortunately, there were dozens of non-game words on the board, so I opted to take a few hints to ease my confusion, with BUCKET and TRAKTOR confirming that we were looking for barn equipment rather than barn animals.
It took me a while to work my way around the board, sighing inwardly as I became a SAW HORSE and experienced mild childish pleasure at the round WHEEL BAR. I hope you were feeling better.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Tuesday, June 16, Game #835)
- WRAP
- SANDWICH
- GYRO
- THE FRAME
- SALAD
- SOUP
- TACOS
- SPANGRAM: WHAT FOR LUNCH
