KARACHI:

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has extended until April 30 a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) allowing airlines flying to and from Pakistan to carry larger quantities of fuel from abroad, in response to ongoing operational concerns linked to the regional situation in the Middle East and fuel supply constraints.

The decision comes amid continued disruptions and logistical challenges in the availability of jet fuel, prompting aviation authorities to maintain special operational measures for international carriers.

The expansion builds on previous directives issued by the authority, which were put in place to deal with fuel planning requirements for airlines operating through Pakistan during a period of regional uncertainty.

Officials said the updated NOTAM further extends these arrangements to ensure continuity of flight operations and reduce potential operational risks.
