Britain’s outspoken TV host Piers Morgan has renewed his feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, calling the couple ‘hypocrisy’ in a fresh attack following their latest move.
Morgan, who infamously quit his six-year job Good morning Great Britain in 2021 after remarks he made about Meghan accused the Sussexes of duplicity for discussing the importance of privacy online and then choosing to post pictures of their children.
It comes after the Sussexes shared pictures of Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, on their social media – albeit with their faces hidden.
Morgan, in conversation with Womanclaimed: “My old friends the Duke and Duchess of Sussex keep preaching to us about privacy and the need to be careful online and how dangerous it is for children – and then what did they do? They upload pictures of their five-year-old child on social media [for her birthday] to billions of people, instantly recognisable.”
The presenter continued: “And I’m like, ‘What are you doing? What is this about? Why do you want to preach about privacy? Why do you want to lecture the world about being very careful with children online and then put your own child out there in front of millions of people?’ It makes no sense to me.”
When asked about Meghan’s motive behind this, Morgan replied: “Maybe it makes sense to their fans, I don’t know, but to me it’s a classic example of the kind of double standard that I think is ridiculous.
“If you’re going to start preaching about things, at least try to live up to it. Don’t immediately do something that’s the exact opposite of what you’ve been preaching about.
“There is an absolute hypocrisy that I find sickening.”
Talking again 5’s The Royals uncensored Morgan said, “How do you trust these two? And they’re going to take the kids [to the UK] that they continue to preach to the world about privacy and how to protect children online. Meanwhile, she’s out there pumping out more and more pictures of their kids week after week… so there’s an absolute hypocrisy there that I honestly find quite sickening.”
The 61-year-old previously called the Claifornia-based couple hypocrites in 2019 – ahead of their royal exit in 2020 – when it was noted they had taken private jets while ‘preaching’ on environmental issues.
“They make themselves look like honorable hypocrites, and you can’t do that as royalty,” he said at the time. GMB.
