Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of using King Charles’ ‘soft side’ for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with their security demands.
The return of the Sussexes has become the talk of the town due to the confusing reports. Some said their arrival in mid-July is confirmed, others claimed Harry is considering bringing his wife and children to his home country due to security concerns.
The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have emotionally blackmailed the monarch to reverse the taxpayer-funded police protection decision, which was rejected.
He said: “To me, this seems a bit of a trap to be honest. So let’s be clear about what is happening. Harry and Megan are saying, ‘We want to live in a royal residence, but only if every time we go away with our children we are guaranteed safety’.”
“So the last time Harry was here, for example last September, he was given police protection when he performed an engagement. On this occasion they have a lot of different things they want to do, but they say unless it’s guaranteed we won’t stay with you,” the royal commentator explained.
Richard said it feels like a “trap” set for the king, which could have caused chaos inside the palace. He added: “So there’s a lot of manipulation going on and it’s all quite unedifying.”
Not only that, Harry and Meghan faced heat for using their children to receive security during their trip to the UK.
He stated, “I’ve heard that they still haven’t gotten the assurances they want in terms of safety. So it’s not clear if they’re going to bring their children or not. So it really looks like they’re using the children, you know, to put pressure on the king.”
