Princess Kate was forced to pull out of a key event due to health issues

Princess Kate was strictly advised to keep her distance from the historic event despite her desperate pleas to be there in person.

The Princess of Wales has been through some serious health issues, most prominently her battle with cancer, for which she received nine months of treatment.

Catherine recently performed at Wimbledon following her Three Peaks Challenge, which she took on for her personal growth following her cancer journey. The Queen-to-be appears in good health now and has taken up her regular diary duties.

But there were some events in the past she wished she could have attended despite her health condition. During a BBC documentary Our Wimbledon, Catherine revealed to Sue Barker how she missed out on a historic Wimbledon match in 2013 despite “begging” to go.

“I was very heavily pregnant with George so I wasn’t able to turn up,” Kate said.

To which Sue Barker replied: “But you had a good excuse!”

“I know, but still,” Kate said. “I was kind of like, ‘Maybe I could go,’ but the doctors were like, ‘No.’ I signed up [Andy Murray] afterwards said sorry for not being there, but big congratulations.”

It was the year Sir Andy Murray reached the men’s singles final, becoming the first British man to win the Grand Slam since Fred Perry in 1936.
